I worked at Great-West Life Assurance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours, bonus every quarter, really good training, shared ownership plan

    Cons

Getting audited. Any mistake you made, little or small, whether it was not putting a period in a remark code, you got dinged on that and that would affect your bonus. Totally understandable if it was a payment error but no matter what mistake you made, your bonus would get affected. Also having to plan your vacation a year in advance, and possibly not getting approved. They go based on seniority in the whole office. So even if you wanted a certain day off and no one on your team was off, you'd get declined that request.

    Advice to Management

Look at your staff as people instead of numbers.

    Pros

They have great benefits and training programs. They are striving to create a good work life balance and offer such things as on-site gym, flexible working hours and a Health Care spending account specific to encouraging employees to purchase things that contribute to their overall health and well being.

    Cons

    The workloads are quite high.
