    I worked at Great-West Life Assurance part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Very people oriented. Many training opportunities. Great employee insurance program. A great work environment with lots of very smart and creative people.

    Cons

    Sometimes overly bureaucratic. Out of the box type thinking not always valued.

    Advice to Management

    Keep open mind to new ideas.

    Pros

    Met one great person. First couple days were alright.

    Cons

    Grinchy attitude from management with unrealistic goals. No proper training system for new employees. Physical threats shut down any and all operations once every year.

    Flex time - most depts. are open to flexible time.
    Medical benefits - above average

    Cons

    Promotion is based on who you know and not what you know. At least in my dept.
    Silo based system.
    Pay is average.
    very oriented on professional designation even though you have experience.
