I have been working at Grand Circle Travel full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    The actual employees are wonderful.

    Cons

They would offer you a raise to do more work and as soon as you were done training they would change the insentives. The last few months I was working support, air and sales for the same pay I was hired for just support.

I worked at Grand Circle Travel full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good Pay. If you care ONLY about money, and benefits. Then this is great.

    Cons

If you have any self respect, family, or friends, don't. You have NO time for yourself. Even the best hours are horrible because they've FORCED mandatory OT for the past 3 years now. They are also scamming old people, charging 300% more than the worth of these "experiences" (control-freak tours)

I worked at Grand Circle Travel full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Other associates are friendly and can make great friends Pay is great with incentives Vacation time, beginning with 20 days a year

    Cons

It's a call center and most customers will treat you rudely , especially if they have been holding more than 10 minutes Mandatory over time where on top of the 37.5-40 hrs of your work week you have to put an additional 3-6 hours or else they will mark you down for values The constant anxiety of exceeding you goals unless you want to be fired, in December/January alone many associates were fired becasue they could not meet their monthly goal in the first week of the month and not giving them the chance to improve They will make sure you are sales trained so that you can take sales calls over your actual department customers, 12 people could be waiting for an air agent for an average of 15 minutes to help them out but you will get a sales call who has waited for 3 minutes because sales are a more priority for the company. The high turn over rate where the hot issue of the company is employment because many people are leaving to find a better job People use this job to search for another one to transition to You will be congratulated by other associates that you put your two weeks in

I worked at Grand Circle Travel

    Pros

Team work and community outing . 5 and 10 year sabbatical vacation with pay.

    Cons

Too much politics and GRIPPY. The top or bottom of the team was selected based on who like you, not the real performance.

I worked at Grand Circle Travel

    Pros

The people are amazing. Some true life long friends were made there. Always down for a party, and when they screw up they always provide employees with food. The benefits package is unbeatable; travel, commuting, vacation time, wellness programs, etc. Who can argue with 2 full paid months off after just 5 years?!

    Cons

Didn't give me an exit interview after a full 2 weeks notice. You can only grow if you have ins with the right people, even though they claim you can move quickly based on performance. It's a hypocritical cult culture where management preaches the values but doesn't actually follow them. No respect for your personal life unless you're a "favorite." They force you to work long hours because they don't know how to properly staff, then won't give you time off on slow days to even out the numbers from busy days.

I worked at Grand Circle Travel full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The travel benefits are great if you can manage to jump through the hoops and actually get on a tour. The location in Fort Point is easy to get to and beautiful (but expensive to get lunch virtually anywhere in the area). You can definitely gain some valuable experience in the travel industry- for when if you finally break free of that place and decide to work someplace SANE.

    Cons

The culture is annoying, and phony. Most of the associates are under 25. They definitely play favorites. You are constantly being watched and graded on everything you do. The fear of being fired for a slew of possible reasons hangs over your head on a day to day basis. The managers change on such a regular basis you don't even know who they are most of the time. Goals are the same- and are often set ridiculously high. The people who call in are entitled, rude, domineering, or worse- lonely and sad.

I have been working at Grand Circle Travel for less than a year

    Pros

2 weeks vacation time, 3 weeks after 2 years. Sick time and personal time are now part of paid time off. Travel benefits, $500.00 personal growth bonus per year. 401K plan with company's match.

    Cons

Lots of mandatory overtime thus lack of real work life balance, shift bids every 4 months or so, recent organizational changes, no job security in the call center. Early release and time off on holidays does not ever apply to call center employees though they do give you comp time to use as PTO in the future. However, not always easy to get time off approved.
