I have been working at Gogo full-time for more than 8 years

        Pros

Good work environment, convenient to the train, some really good people who know what they’re doing, good technology

        Cons

Some really poor performers just hanging on, while talented people leave. No technology road map.

        Advice to Management

Get some leaders who truly understand your airline customers and who understand it’s a relationship business

I worked at Gogo full-time for more than a year

        Pros

There was a lot of talented and smart people with great ideas working there, DevOps infrastructure was one of the best I've seen so far. Pay and benefits were nice. Projects were a mix of many technologies and generally complex, which is tempting to engineers looking for a challenge and working on something new.

        Cons

Highly disorganized management and corporate politics are killing this company. Think about Game of Thrones but in a corporate setting. Too many managers who don't seem to trust each other, serving empty promises and making simple business decisions really complicated; one small change on the project usually results in the several hours meeting or two... If you have luck you will have a good product manager who will...

        Advice to Management

Focus on cleaning the upper management and directors before you point the blame on the development teams, which are locked in place by bad decisions.

        Advice to Management

Do work and play less political games.

I have been working at Gogo full-time for more than 5 years

        Pros

Combination of many complex technologies and challenges, which leads to many opportunities to find something fun or interesting to do in any engineering domain - telecom, satcom, networking, ecommerce, global logistics and fleet maintenance, HW design-testing-integration, UX, IP-TV, aircraft engineering, big data, data science.

        Cons

Chronically extremely disorganized, upper management does not seem able to turn business around; very uneven level of people, if you are lucky your team will have good management and talent that is fun to be around.

I have been working at Gogo full-time for more than a year

        Pros

Convenient location, decent benefits, did I mention location?

        Cons

Director and above level management have no idea what it is their employees do. Company has gotten restructured so many times some new hires have had 3 different people they’re reported to within a year. There is no trust within teams and overall a dysfunctional time to be part of this company. Directors have multiple teams under their belt some of which have no experience in the field they are managing which makes it...

        Advice to Management

Get Directors and above that care and are well versed in the field they are managing. You are losing great talent because good employees can’t do the job plus explain to their superiors why or how it is they’re working on what they’re working on.
