I have been working at Glanbia plc full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Free avonmore food that's it.

    Cons

Incredibly busy, must take inbound calls make outbound calls (about 50 a day) answer emails and 'chase' supermarkets with orders not in all at the same time. VERY old fashioned slow computers. So bad can barely run the SAP software required to do your job. Toxic backstabbing culture, you really are just a number in this job. Crazy understaffed to 'push profits'. When someone leaves the call centre (usually once a month) their workload 100 calls in and out in a day is dumped on someone else on the team. It's why me and another girl couldn't wait to leave. People are abrupt on the phone and usually speak very broken English. Many won't say hello just bark orders at you in an ignorant manner. Typical soul destroying job. Worst thing however is Glanbia could EASILY make it better. For example more staff, dual screens, faster computers etc etc. Won't happen however. Anything good is kept for the high ups and their millions a year salaries!. Some of the highest paid executives in Ireland Glanbia has.

I worked at Glanbia plc full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

OVERALL ADVICE: The grad program is good as a first job, it pays well (30k) its very social (kilkenny especially). You will get some experience and make friends. Have something lined up as your contract end date approaches and leave. They will be "late" with the offering and it'll force you to sign or leave on the spot. There is not much opportunity after the grad program when I was there a few years back. Salary after the grad program varies between 36-38k. I've seen people who've given 110% for the 2 year program and still received the same as people half assing it. PROS -Grad program is very "social and inclusive" you will make a lot of friends -Some graduates get put on projects/developed well etc while on the program and have a great experience and have made good careers - Very team dependant - The Graduate Program is good money initially, its about 30k in any of the IT roles. - Kilkenny is a great city to live in. Cheap rent, good nightlife etc. ideal starter role - You will do well here IF you can get on a project on the team you are in. Work hard and try to get seconded abroad with Glanbia, that's where you will become valuable and make a lot of money.

    Cons

-No possibility of moving up/advancing your career once you leave the program, your position is basically that for a few years until you can move up to senior analyst level. - Huge difference in graduate experience within IT as a whole. Some get to go abroad and do rotations, others will be in the same place for the entire program, again very team dependant. - Money/salary increments is a stickler with management, they don't like talking about it and it's very hard to get any raise. Its designed with a lot of 'red tape" to make getting a raise time consuming and painful. They also don't exactly outline how you can go about it without pushing the matter. - They are always"late" with the contract coming off the program, this forces you to sign or leave then and there. It was always under the market rate when I was there - Pay roughly 80% of market rate when I was there. -3 month notice if you sign the contract after the graduate program.

I worked at Glanbia plc full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Decent starting wage as a graduate Nightlife in kilkenny is good and it’s a cheap place to live.

    Cons

Crap salary jump off the program. Cannot do anything to get a better wage for a few years despite being told otherwise Crappy management, no training/development. Performance reviews once a year which they hate doing and will do/say anything to avoid giving you a rise No career or travel opportunities for 80% of graduates despite being sold this at grad fairs/interview HR won’t do anything for you in relation to this. The “feedback” never comes and nothing changes.
