    Pros

Huge opportunity to learn a lot. You get to do everything not just recruiting or performance management or employee relations. Great confidential exposure to everything HR deals with when it comes to the business as well as the employees.

    Cons

Culture is lagging. Decision making is slow and political.

    Advice to Management

Walk the Talk - talking doesn't work

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Giesecke & Devrient full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Clean environment. Kind co-workers (not management). Free coffee (although the machine is constantly under repairs).

    Cons

Horrible management. Guilt tripping from management. Over hours demanded by management. Cheap and stingy management (especially the super-rich ''Big Boss''). Way too many rules and regulations. Exhaustive work. Underemployed.

    Advice to Management

The selfish management should think more of their unhappy team. This is at the management's hands and yet they do not care. The management is incredibly cheap with their budget and therefore, guilt trips the team to work overtime. So glad I quit that lousy paying job. Stay away from the horrible pay wage and save your peace of mind.

Current Employee - Printing in Markham, ON
    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Giesecke & Devrient full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The pay is decent. The employees are good to work with. The market and the job itself is not bad.

    Cons

Management finds blame where mistakes are made. Instead of finding solutions to improve, they point fingers. Instead of collaborating and working as a team player, they have departments work against each other. Intimation, bullying and threatening jobs is a common occurrence. They believe that having fear in management is how to get work done by their employees.

    Advice to Management

Open the lines of communication, not close them. Don't promote someone if they don't have the qualifications for the job. Take a course on management. Or better yet, do us all a favour and quit.
