Oct. 29, 2017 - General Labour in Kingston, ONRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-Excellent management-Management know the job well (mostly promoted from the bakery floor), The plant manager at the place I worked started out moving pans between conveyor belts as a teenager. Easily the best manager I've ever had. The rest of the management both provided the necessary support to get the job done and made sure that employees were safe reasonably well cared for. -Union job so the pay was pretty reasonable for a general labor job of the sort (~14/hr). I got a small raise each summer I came back, and could have worked my way up the pay sale more if I'd wanted to stay on part time during the school year.
Cons
-The work is boring and fairly physical. -shift work, at first you will likely do a lot of night shifts -Your co-workers will be a bit of a mixed lot as the hiring requirement is basically warm, breathing and able to follow simple instructions.
