I worked at George Brown College part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Amazing for those who want to help people and love interacting with them
    - Real community vibe with fun get-togethers and events
    - Paid training - learn by doing on the job
    - Big discounts for any college courses you want to take as a continuing education student
    - Great gym at St. James Campus! Part-timers and Full-timers get free access

    Cons

    - Unionized organization
    - Hard and long to become full-time if first hired part-time
    - Part-time contract is reviewed and renewed three times a year (every semester), mine was not renewed because of full-time studies, and, as a result, lesser availability
    - Even if part-time, hard to combine with another part-time job because schedules change every week, so it's hard to know when you are going to get scheduled and make other commitments without losing hours at the College

    Pros

The pay is higher than minimum.
    The work hours are convenient.

    Cons

Supervisor tracks your ins and outs so in case of disagreement, there is no proof that you were present on that day.

    Advice to Management

    Improve the leadership skills
