      Pros

      Good benefits Free coffee/ pop

      Cons

Big learning curve they expect you to quickly become good at it within 3 days Ten hour shifts often three or four days consecutively They throw a ton of information at you and like I said above they expect you to be great within 3 shifts ( it’s ten hour shifts but you will be studying while still watching cameras and doing online certification) Not a job if you want good work/life balance

      Pros

Good company, good benefits. Lots of opportunity.

      Cons

Surveillance management at the Starlight Edmonton severely lacks leadership and experience. The manager is never there and the two supervisors make the environment unbearable to continue long term.

Good salary but Poor management and communication

Feb. 17, 2018 - Floor Supervisor in Edmonton, AB
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The higher the seniority an employee has, the more advantage you have. Your work schedule request is based on your seniority. If you're a new employee, then of course you'll be working mostly weekends and night shifts. The salary is fair depending on your game knowledge and hours you've accumulated, which in other words also based on your seniority. The company also provides good benefits for their full time employees. If you like the gaming industry, you'll enjoy working here. Overall, it's quite entertaining as you start to learn more games and the staff are friendly. It's definitely a good part time and full time job. Where can you find a job that gives you a break every hour?

      Cons

There's often some favoritism which exists in the workplace. Inconsistent rulings and policies often occur which lead to low morale in the workplace. Different superiors may have different rules. The gateway properties seem to have a high turnover at the management levels. They tend to strangely disappeared...again poor management decisions!
