I have been working at Gartner full-time

    Pros

    - World class research teams - Super intelligent, talented and enlightened people everywhere - Opportunity to work with executive-level clients at the largest companies in the world. Opportunity to make a difference.

    Cons

    - Metrics focused organization - Work life balance takes some time to figure out and get right. But totally possible.

I have been working at Gartner full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I have enjoyed working at Gartner due to the work / life balance it provides me as a sales rep. Leadership provides an incredible amount of resources to help the sales reps to be successful. Retention allows for consistent commission while prospecting/closing net new opportunities. More of a farming role than hunting role, but both skill sets are important to being successful in sales at Gartner. Accounts are assigned based on Geography so zero time on airplanes and more time at home with the family.

    Cons

Some of the pros are a double edge sword. Geography based assigned accounts end up being shared and can lead to friction between AE's in different areas. At times "one gartner" is more of a saying than a hard and fast policy. Seat Transfers can hurt your sales numbers and negatively impact commissions and as a sales rep that is very frustrating since it is mostly completely out of your control. Recently eliminated merit increases and 401k Match while leadership has given no timetable for them to return.

    Doesn't Recommend

I worked at Gartner full-time for more than a year

    Pros

1.Good technical skills and good leaning 2.Good no of leaves 3.Wfh but if your team has that culture

    Cons

1.No hr employee engagement activities 2. Everything depends on your project .If you get bad project then there will be lots of politics , no healthy work environment, work pressure .Everybody is just running and everything will remain in hands of director.if your ist impression is good then you can survive otherwise they will make wrong image and will never change it.If you have skills to keep manager and director happy , then only you can survive here. Otherwise all your efforts are gone in vain 3.if management don't link you by any chance they will frustate you and try to pressurirse you , find mistakes in your work, they might unnecessarily increase your probation period, and you will always feel insecure about your job 4.Wfh exist but will be given very less. if you opt for many wfh , then they will start mailing you and will again try to annoy you But yes if managers like you ,you will get ample of wfh 😁 4. hr will never interact with you .Is she ensure you joining bonus ,take in written.Dont trust, they will not pay you. 5.Hr will say she's maintaining parity, but no parity at all .you will see huge difference in packages..So demand as high as possible 6.No activity's by Hr and no employment engagement 7.In corona they have stopped appraisals and even laying off people .They have also revoked offers for IITIANS. 8.work.life balance poor. But it again depends on project, director.I have seen some projexts with good work life balance. All my reviews are in reference to working in SSD team.

I worked at Gartner full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-kind/smart people -great work life balance -great benefits

    Cons

-pay is well below the market rate -no diversity at all in the arlington office -the work gets routine and boring, especially on the research side, but the management doesn't do anything about it (#1 reason young employees leave) -there is no drive to be cutting edge unless you are a senior level/analyst. research team frequently settles for mediocrity when it comes to topic areas, depth of analysis and type of products.
