    I worked at GWF full-time

    Pros

The company has lots of product promotions to keep the job interesting and challenging. It had a great working culture once but with every new senior management change, this is disappearing.

    Cons

Senior management only pay lip service, talk the talk but do not walk the walk. You are told that you are under performing but given no help to improve it and threatened with dismissal. Giving feedback is deemed to be negative and you get chastised for it. Management says it has an open door policy for employees to voice their concerns but really, once you say something they don't like to hear, watch out!

    Advice to Management

Be sincere and honest and open about wanting to get feedback from employees without fear of reprisal.

Undercurrent of nepotism and boys network - very weak executive team

    Advice to Management

Pretty disappointing calibre at the executive level

I have been working at GWF full-time

    Pros

Great parent company - Associated British Foods
    Collaborative culture
Lots of investment in people development

    Cons

Food manufacturing is a tough industry, difficult to get significant returns. This sometimes plays on people engagement.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in the assets (people, infrastructure and brands)

I worked at GWF full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company has more focus on people & career development instead of EBIT in recent years
    Culture Diversity

    Cons

Communication between division and shared service needs to be enhanced

    Advice to Management

i think there is an opportunity for the company to embrace a little more cultural diversity in management roles

I have been working at GWF full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great culture, people are so friendly and welcoming here. Good effort goes into personal development through training, experience and education. Great development of leaders, especially in supporting their own teams and people to grow in their roles. Interesting industry and lots of great networking opportunities, very diverse employees which is great.

    Cons

Diversity of employees not shown at senior level which is a shame. More cross-divisional and functional development opportunities could be made use of. Big stagnant in the senior leadership team, probably time for a bit of movement.

    Advice to Management

Get some fresh blood and new ideas in. Lovely people here but could be more exciting place to work

I have been working at GWF full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Can't think of any pro's at this time...

    Cons

Lack of leadership and poor decisions. Senior managers retained long enough to do damage before they are let go....HR function is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Rather than knee jerk responses, think about what you need to do. Turning the business around involves more than simply laying people off and playing to certain 'managers' (not leaders) with nepotism gone mad. No accountability for senior management who have screwed the company around but somehow are still there.
