I worked at Fraser Health full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Work with people who need assistance in mental health access and education. Some good people and on occasions interesting programs offered for staff and clients.

    Cons

You are really just a number and replacement is not an issue for management. Many positions remain unfilled thru-out the organization so overworked within a structured number of hours causes additional stress. Do much much more with less and less. Expect to be understaffed at almost every site. Moral is dependent on the location manager and even then upper management can impact a local clinic by imposing or withdrawing programs/services.

Toxic work environment where everyone passes the buck, everyone tolerates harassment and bullying in the workplace, poor and weak leadership as upper management has no idea what they are doing and are hardly on site.

    I worked at Fraser Health

    Pros

Great co-workers, hard working. Hours/pay-rate standard for industry Opportunity for lots of over time Mostly just good caring people to work with

    Cons

Clueless upper management - constantly over capacity, managers offer no solutions except "work harder" from their blackberry while at a meeting god-knows-where. Management top-heavy Hire lecturers or analysts instead of staff.
