    I worked at Frankie & Benny's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Friendly co-workers
    Good pay
    Easy job role

    Cons

Only got about 4 hours a week
Was never allowed to book time off work for a holiday that I had already paid for
    Unfair treatment of staff
    Poorly managed
Members of the kitchen were very rude and horrible and did not treat me with any respect whatsoever. One of the kitchen members even punched me on the arm very roughly twice.
Unfair amount of shifts given to employers.
The manager had favoritism over the employers and treated others with more respect then me.
My manager didn't pay me for weeks on end after I was due my payslip and continued to make it out to be my fault.

    Advice to Management

Treat all members of staff fairly and give out a fair amount of wages to everyone and allow holidays.

    I have been working at Frankie & Benny's part-time

    Pros

    Make good friends
Free soft drinks whilst on duty

    Cons

Poor pay, £5.60 per hour when others are paying £7.50+
Long, up to 12 hour shifts with only 20 minute break
High staff turnover due to poor pay, working conditions and pressurised work.
Bar staff don't get included in tip shares even though they provide all the drinks for tables as well.
Fear culture, 0 hours contract but if you turn down a shift you are treated like a leper although they can't threaten not to give you any shifts because they are so desperate for staff!
Rarely provide food to staff doing 12 hour shifts
Have to pay for your food, this seems just wrong at a restaurant
Not enough staff to cover the work
Training is nonexistent other than what you need to get by, there's not enough time.
Part-time but worked 30 hours in 3 days.

    Advice to Management

Improve food quality and you wouldn't need to offer big discounts, it's just not VFM at the moment, then you can pay your staff a decent wage.
Improve pay rates to retain good staff or lose them to better employers.
    Provide proper break periods.
Treat your staff well and they will reward you with loyalty.
As soon as i find a better job where i am valued i'm leaving.

    I worked at Frankie & Benny's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good training structure - given lots of information on first shift. Seems very professional at first until you see he same reoccurring.

    Cons

Shifts constantly cancelled and pay was never correct. Management would never be very helpful on getting these issues resolved either.

    Advice to Management

Don't overhire as this means no guarantee of hours for full time team members

I worked at Frankie & Benny's (More than a year)

    Pros

Colleagues were fun to work with, though stressed. A free meal is provided if you work a long enough shift, which was always delicious!

    Cons

Low pay for very long hours. Often made to work much longer shifts than I was legally allowed to, without a break. Breaks were unpaid.

Colleagues and I often had to sit around on extended (unpaid) breaks when there were few customers, waiting to be allowed to work again.

Since I was not yet an adult at that time, I was legally unable to be employed as a waitress or to go behind the bar. Instead, I was given a busser's wage, and asked to act as a waitress anyway. F&B's see no problem in exploiting young people in those ways, which could be problematic if this job is anything more then temporary for you.

    Pros

    -free meals on break
-discount at multiple chains including chiquitos
-upbeat music helps to create a good work ethic
    -team were very layed back

    Cons

    -absolutely appauling management
    -extremely petty and catty environment
-clear divide between kitchen and front of house staff
-CONSTANTLY understaffed- leading to conflict with customers and unneeded stress on all staff
-never willing to spend enough on labour
    -managers have favourites

    Advice to Management

Please learn to budget appropriately and loosen up on the 'the customers always right policy', its unfair on the staff who work way too hard for the treatment they receive.
