I have been working at Flipp full-time

    Pros

Flexible hours, great team members to work with and LOTS of opportunities to move around and try new things. High trust in the executive team/leaders among the company and Flipp has really done a stellar job in navigating the pandemic while closing the physical office and moving the team to entirely remote. Also, there were very conservative plans in place that the entire team was made aware of that made me feel like I had enough time to prepare for many potentials. Flipp and the executive team did not do any layoffs and it was really amazing to have this kind of support and job security during times like this. Flipp is also a place where your ideas are heard and you have the autonomy to take on projects and see-through ideas. One other thing I'd like to note. Flipp has onsite practitioners in office. When I first started at Flipp I met with our Psychotherapist who noticed something I didn't and fast tracked to me to a colleague of hers (that otherwise I would have been a year long on the waiting list) After a battery of tests I was diagnosed with a disorder that had been unknowingly impacting my mental, emotional and physical states for years. I was able to get on a treatment plan, still have ongoing support to this day, and my inner life has taken a complete 180 from where it was before. If Flipp hadn't offered the access to the practitioner support I needed at the time, I don't know where I'd be...Forever thankful to Flipp and the wellness practitioner team!

    Cons

It's been a rollercoaster, there will be pivots, there will be changes there will be constant evolution. Everyone's experience is always uniquely different, but I'd say if you perform well in fast-paced situations and are able to adapt and welcome changes you will do very, very well at Flipp. For others, it might feel difficult to keep up.

I have been working at Flipp full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

In over 10 years of work experience Flipp has by far been the best corporation I've worked at for the following reasons. These responses are based off of my own experience and those that I worked closely with and may be different from wha others have experienced so I encourage you to reach out to people who work here for a complete view. Also the below has been more prevalent at certain times based on where I was in experience at Flipp but for the most part has been consistent through my time at the organization. Additional context is I chose to work long hours and hustle and therefore was rewarded with opportunities at an accelerated rate but anyone can go at their own speed. 1. An incredible team where life long friends are created all the time and there is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet some truly intelligent, driven people that will help you to work towards maximizing your potential 2. Trust in teammates to take on new challenges and support systems/ resources 3. Focus and dedication to development of others 4. Autonomy to create your own path and drive your career 5. Respect individual teammates opinions/ knowledge and experience 6. Especially in the last two years, there has been a focus to invest in proven leadership and talent at the executive level which is providing a direct benefit to the rest of the organization

    Cons

No company is perfect but the companies that are able to see where they are not meeting the expectations of the organization or the cultural principles they have established and then actively work to get back on track are truly the best corporations. The areas where Flipp is trying to get back on track right now are below 1. Clear and consistent communication on strategy on the overall vision for the organization and accountability when strategies do not work and changes need to be made 2. Formalization and documentation of established processes. As the company has moved extremely fast to grow tot he size that it has, a lot of institutional knowledge lives in the 3. Resourcing for movement with the fast pace changes of a growing organization- As new roles become available or employees take on new roles, there is a lot of autonomy to figure out the best way to be successful but less formal frameworks than some other organizations

I have been working at Flipp full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The culture at Flipp is second to none! Everyone is extremely supportive and willing to help out and people genuinely like each other - no politics to deal with. The Exec team has done a great job in stabilizing the business given our Covid life. They have been very transparent in where we stand and what's to come. I'm grateful to be working for a company that is so forward thinking and allowing for such flexibility in accommodating everyone's personal situations in working from home and thinking about ways to improve the WFH experience and planning for the months to come.

    Cons

We're extremely fast paced so sometimes it's difficult to prioritize work; we also have a high communication culture so hard to keep up with all the information shared on different Slack channels.

I have been working at Flipp full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people are amazing. You learn a lot and will have some amazing and talented people to learn from. Great team connections. Everyone is willing to help each other out and get things done. There has been some major changes in upper management which has been positive to the company. The leadership team has done a fantastic job through the Covid-19 pandemic and supporting their employees in their new ways of working which shows they seriously care about their employees (also no layoffs!). They have changed their strategy to support retailers and users of the app with the changing economy. Flexible working hours. Great equity and career opportunities. Lots of internal training happening.

    Cons

It is a really fast pace place to work and at times, you have to deal with some ambiguity on product roadmap. There is definitely that entrepreneur mindset with lots of change but honestly, it keeps it exciting.

I have been working at Flipp full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Growth Mindset - Always growing, learning and challenging (work and personally); Hardworking - Everyone is working hard with you (i.e. peak periods like Black Friday, teams support each other.. even if they are not on the team). Humble - You always have the few that aren't but I would say 95% of people I work with are very humble. When you compliment them, they shy away and prefer to compliment others. Results Oriented (personally & business) - We have business objectives & personal growth targets. Fast-Paced and ever changing - you will never get board Lack of Politics - Top Down & Bottom up Feedback encouraged - managers to report, report to manager, report to director, senior leadership, all is welcome and encouraged. I can be my direct (and respectful) self and give honest feedback.

    Cons

Easy to get overwhelmed - There will always be more to do - my biggest learning is working on prioritization. It is hard to do because this is A LOT you can do, but we are encouraged and supported in looking for ways to prioritize Growing Pains - there are opportunities to streamline, simplify. That would make it easier to drive efficiencies and balance.

I have been working at Flipp full-time

    Pros

Collaboration with some brilliant people. Challenging tasks. Flexible work schedule. Casual and fun atmosphere. Free snacks, and I live in Mississauga so commute is great.

    Cons

Fast-paced -- sometimes too much so and need to keep up with it. Not enough time to think carefully about the best answer to problems.

    I worked at Flipp

    Pros

Working for Flipp as an intern was an absolute pleasure. The work was challenging and rewarding, the location was ideal (western Toronto), and above all the people and culture were fantastic. Work-life balance assured, frequent team and company bonding events, very flexible work hours. They are always open to and appreciative of feedback.

    Cons

Not much, maybe more fast-paced than some would like.

I worked at Flipp for less than a year

    Pros

    - Fast paced work - 1 on 1 mentor system to foster growth in career and life in general - Interns aren't just shoved to the side - Lots of perks and monthly outings

    Cons

    - Rapid growth means somewhat disorganized management - Large size of company means less startup-y feel
