    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Flipp full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Unbelievable culture - Over communication by Executive team to ensure everyone in the company is on the same page - Free healthy snacks and Friday lunches! - Unlimited vacation - Management really invested in long term career development - Excellent work/life balance opportunities

    Cons

Cant really think of any legitimate cons to working for Flipp. Any company will have unique challenges which will require adjustment on the part of staff, and Flipp is no different. That isn't a con, but merely reality.

I have been working at Flipp

    Pros

    - People:every person at this company I truly enjoy working with - environment: the company is extremely fast-paced and always reinventing and in order to do so you need highly intelligent, hard workers, innovators and collaborators. It is truly a team based approach - Compensation, many start ups or smaller companies, provide non monetary benefits, but it can be difficult to live off the salary itself. This is not the case at Flipp - above industry salary, bonus structure, best health benefits ever seen - Team/Company events and activities: we have an amazing admin/events team who puts on monthly low key bar nights/games nights/movie nights and then larger weekend events as well such as Blue Mountain Trips, White Water Rafting, Sports games, picnics, etc - Roles: 99% of the roles at Flipp are designed to provide the employee with the ability to drive the position to what they want it to be and in turn grow and develop. Although the company is very flat in nature which allows us to be quick to react, there is endless opportunity for growth within the role as well as through new roles.

    Cons

    - Flipp has been very successful and due to their tight hiring process and ensuring they hire the right people it does come at a price. The company is not able to scale at the same rate as their growth which does lead to an increased work load compared to other well established companies. If you are looking to work at a cool place, with great employees and smart people but only put in a 9-5 work week. This is not the right place. If you are looking to work hard, surround yourself with brilliant like-minded people, challenge/push yourself and be rewarded for doing so, this is definitely the place for you.

I have been working at Flipp full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A lot of the employees are friends and interact really well together, making company lunches and company events something to look forward to on a continuing basis. Ski trips, boat cruises, Raptors games are all part of the perks.

    Cons

The expectations put on everyone are insane. The company has a cool product, but the cost at which it is developped can't be sustained. Most people burn out after a few months. Those who try to have a life outside of work are told they are not a cultural fit and sent packing. The amount of work demanded from the executive team will put all of your personal relationships to the test. Many of my relationships were strained, including the most important relationship with my fiancee. When people bring up these concerns with senior management, they are told to work more efficiently. When you've completed all of your work because you've been efficient, senior management assumes you're slacking because theres always work to be done. I like to work hard, have always been successful, but the expectations demanded from this company are unlike anything I've ever witnessed. You ust be in the office 12 hours a day. You're always on call, no matter what you're doing. When you're not in the office, you need to send a note to the entire company explaining why you're not there & what you'll be working on all day. Extremely demanding is an understatement - it's crazy, and don't think this level of craziness can be kept up. I don't know how the people who have been at the company for 5 years have been able to do it while keeping their sanity.

I have been working at Flipp full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - HR does an incredible job at finding great people who fit with the culture and are qualified for their roles. This makes it amazing working collaboratively with the different internal business units because everyone is an expert at what they're doing and everyone shares similar work ethic. - Visibility is amazing at Flipp. From every level of the business there is visibility which contributes to the team being aligned on focuses, goals, wins and challenges that need to be worked through. It really helps minimize miscommunication and helps with achieving results. - The leadership team is made up of a group of truly inspiring, passionate and interesting individuals. They act as very hands-on coaches, so there are opportunities to learn from them on the daily. - We are a quick paced group. We are not one of those cultures that falls into analysis paralysis and takes months to make a decision. We recognize that if you are going to lead and transform a space you need to move quickly to do so. I love how quickly our team can move from idea to execution, while ensuring we are successful along the way.

    Cons

Really not a whole lot. We used to be in a somewhat old and unexciting building, but recently moved to Bloor & Islington with an incredible office space. Honestly, you need to be the kind of person that is willing to work hard. That's a part of being an integral member of a team and being passionate about achieving positive results. That being said, I never feel like working overtime is the norm or that I don't have work life balance (I truly do not understand where that one negative reviewer is coming from). I work an 8 hour day almost always, and I have fun while doing it! The focus is always on being efficient with your time. If something is slowing you down or causing a backlog of work, our coaches encourage us to speak up and work with the team on determining holes in our processes so that we can improve and work smarter.

I have been working at Flipp full-time for less than a year

    Pros

You feel at home in our office - the people are kind, smart, genuine and funny. Despite the relaxed atmosphere, we're relentless in our pursuit of growing business and being better than we were the day before, and that's exciting. The is so much potential; the team is very focused on evolution of the company, and developing their talent.

    Cons

This is not an appropriate workplace for people who require rigid structure and routine; things happen quickly, and you need to be nimble to perform. It's a matter of taste.
