I have been working at Flagstar Bank as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great hours and management
good location, benefits and competitive pay

    Cons

If you are brought in as a contract worker, it is almost impossible to get hired into the company, regardless of the promises they tell you. A few get hired on but most get replaced by current employees wanting to try something different. I have seen many replaced by less qualified people, including myself. A current employee gets first preference, regardless of thier quailifications.

    Advice to Management

If you have a good contract worker who has performed extremely well, you should find the time to help that person find a different position within the company, promised without action leads to you losing a great employee and another company gaining that great employee.

    Pros

Great way to interact with the local community and allow businesses in MI to bank with a MI based bank. Great Products and very competitive rates.

    Cons

Upper Management always making unrealistic sales goals and staffing banking centers with less people and more duties.

    Advice to Management

Just be prepared to do it all.

I worked at Flagstar Bank part-time

    Pros

I enjoyed the people I worked with and it was a nice atmosphere. I worked in the Birmingham location so the customers were pleasant overall. Getting a bonus for meeting our goals was always nice.

    Cons

It turned into an aggressive sales position and I felt uncomfortable constantly selling products. We even had to cold call at one point which is way out of my comfort zone.

I worked at Flagstar Bank full-time

    Pros

    Very entrepreneurial energy,
You got back in respect and income what you put into it.
Most of the managers know what they are doing and are there to support.

    Cons

Many of the senior managers forget what its like to be on the road and make internal decisions that are just not feasible.
Just like any sales AE job - they ask for report after report after report and then ask you why you're not making outside sales calls to your clients. Well there are only so many hours in a day. :)
