I have been working at Finastra full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

never a dull moment, lots to learn, hakathon, social committee.

    Cons

Always in a state of flux. Not enough employees for the work available. Too much stress on existing employees. C-Level "seems" to be disconnected from the front-line IT staff.

I worked at Finastra full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good IT firm with a lot of tech stack, flexible hour, most of the tech guy are very nice. My manager is super pro and nice.

    Cons

Some DevOps cannot adopt the cloud era, but stop people from embracing them. Some BAs cannot do their job providing requirement to the team, but harass people around them, being very incivility. Some solution is over-engineered. Some "scrum master" doesn't even understand what software development is, but give none-sense order to team members. Compensation is not up to date.

    I worked at Finastra full-time

    Pros

Team was close knit and genuine comprised of people

    Cons

I worked at the real estate department that dealt with registering mortgages on behalf of banks like RBC, TD etc. This department was initially it's own company many years ago and was bought out by Davis + Henderson which then got acquired by Finastra. This department got absolutely no love from the other departments and was treated like the sweat shop of the organization. You had to be at your desk before or right at 9am, and could not leave for the day a minute before 5pm. Lunch breaks had to be exactly 30minutes. Your every second of work is accounted for in the system, and people actually got worried when there was no work to do. The team is comprised mostly of minorities that don't complain about what is essentially slave labour for just a little over minimum wage. Stay away from this department and don't make the same mistake I did.
