I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good place to learn, they have great benefits, bonus and rrsp and encourage learning. Great for new grad to stay for 1-2 years. Good training.

    Cons

Little growth, there is an old club feeling in Toronto. There is high competition for internal roles. There is alot of bad mouthing. Not somewhere to stay long term. Very process oriented and adverse to change or new ideas. Lacks employee cultural diversity. Employees dont understand how so many awards are won, its nice on paper but we dont see it in action.

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Excellent physical location in downtown Toronto, great benefits starting from day 1, good people. Sound policies in place and lots of resources in place. Business and products are time-tested and solid, no danger of going away anytime soon.

    Cons

Management is either getting complacent or mired in groupthink. Either projects are half-baked or not given enough prep or love to make it through. Some aspects of company culture seems to be beset by inertia. And most infuriatingly, sometimes, attention is given more to style than substance.

    I worked at Fidelity Investments

    Pros

Lots of opportunity for growth, but lots of competition. Salary is generous but management is very detached. Benefits are great. Vacation allowance, mat leave and flex time are all negotiable.

    Cons

Lots of competition. Complicated performance review metrics. Training is not thorough. Dont regret the experience but other firms do better.

    I worked at Fidelity Investments

    Pros

Great benefits (dental, vision, vacation, tuition reimbursement, gym memebership reimbusement) The training provided is beneficial as it is comprehansive in Health & Welfare and Payroll benefit knowledge.

    Cons

Little opportunity to move up within call centre. Tough to take ownership of issues as there are different departments that might need to work on an issue and the communication is inefficient between them. Addionally management is constantly changing the evaluation metrics, often times reverting back to old methods. Company is in transition period as many jobs are being relocated to other centres and thus long term stability within the organization is delicate.
