I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I've been at Farmers for more than a decade. The changes inside the company during that time have been astounding . I really feel our leadership understands what they need to do to attract and keep talent in this rapidly changing marketplace. They've relaxed the dress code, improved technology, reworked benefits and really focused on diversity and inclusion efforts at all levels of the company. I've never really felt the desire to leave (which I had at both previous employers). Things I like:
    - I'm extremely challenged in my role.
    - I feel my talents are being used to the fullest extent.
    - I feel valued.
    - I got a lot of time off (I actually struggle to use the 30 days I receive each year).
    - I get to work at home a lot.
    - I'm given a lot of autonomy in my role.
    - I'm given opportunity.
    - I get to support my community and my favorite charities on behalf of Farmers.
    - I feel fairly compensated.

    Cons

    - Work/life balance can be a little off. Sometimes I ask, "what balance?"
    - Benefits are decent. Probably could be better. My litmus test is that I perceive my husband's employer-provided benefits better than what I receive.
    - Offices outside of Home Office (Los Angeles) have less opportunity than Home Office, especially in my business unit.

    Advice to Management

Keep working to transform the company for the better.

I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group full-time

    Pros

We have really good managers here that actually care about their employees and try hard to work with them. The company is very inclusive as well. We have very good coworkers that have a team mentality and work well with each other. Awesome work family!

    Cons

The company could give more holidays, especially towards the first half of the year, we have about a 4 month dry spell. Also, could give more PTO days especially since there is no separate sick bank and everything is tied into one. The company can also work more towards providing a better work-life balance as well.

I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, profit sharing, and mobility around the company via internal transfer.

    Cons

Can't think of any problems other than the call center side can be very stressful especially during natural disasters.

I worked at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The team I worked for and my direct supervisor were awesome! Decent health benefits, great 401k, PTO from day one and a good amount of days even in the first five years, major holidays observed

    Cons

The short time I worked there we went through about three realignments ending with the one that eliminated my job position

    Advice to Management

I don’t think it was wise to eliminate the territory, the head of and part of his team, who were #1 in the nation in 2017 and sitting at #2 in September of 2018 when it was dissolved, some good employees that have been loyal to Farmers for decades are without work

I worked at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Customer service side has it down. They do the right thing for the customer.

    Cons

Adjusters were overworked and speed and volume of claims was valued over customer service once it was passed to an adjuster.

I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free gifts and snacks from collaborating vendors, good hours, nice employer, weekends off, and paid holidays off.

    Cons

    Low pay as non-licensed employee.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Friendly employees and overall desire to help each other
Over my years of employment I was given chances to promote and be challenged until my location was no longer a growth site
Yearly bonus is good for high level contributors

    Cons

Constant leadership changes sometimes makes job feel unstable
If you’re not at a growth site and/or willing to move you can feel like there’s limited mobility
