    Pros

Family Dollar is a growing retail company looking for energetic employees nationwide that offers a rewarding career in several job openings

It does require long work hours six days a week. Most stores are located in challenging areas and operate with minimal staff.

Although you will work hard along with a lot of hours here to be successful it is a corporation you can develop a long term career.

I have been working at Family Dollar Stores full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I get payed pretty good money, and my customers are great.

    Cons

My assistant manager and manger both slack a lot and don't get the job done when needed.

    Advice to Management

Check the store cameras look closely on how much they are on their phones during their shift. You will then notice the only people who really do much is the cashier's.

I worked at Family Dollar Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some advancement opportunities, stock options, negotiable STARTING pay, they mainly try to advance people within the company rather than hire management from outside

    Cons

Very little raises not even with time or experience repetitive tasks with very little training once you advance to assistant manager you better have patience if you want to go any further, it's like high school cliques

    Advice to Management

When employees ask for help be more supportive in helping them it means they actually want to be there and succeed

I have been working at Family Dollar Stores part-time

    Pros

Good place to start, can move up to management if you do your job right.

    Cons

It feels as though store managers don't have free will everything comes down with a hammer from corporate seems unfair.

    Advice to Management

Not necessarily towards management but to the corporation itself, it seems as though you don't trust your employees fully to make competent decisions about how their store is running. You make everything a little bit too easy let the people that run your stores make those decisions.
