    Pros

Good work life balance Friendly coworkers Low stress environment

    Cons

Stagnant salaries Little benefit for high performance

    Advice to Management

Salaries need to be kept competitive or your best talent will jump ship. Many of my most talented coworkers have already left and they've all gotten significant pay raises.

I have been working at FactSet full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Most of people working here are very nice, and welling to teach. Depends on the team, but most teams have good work and life balance.

    Cons

After the new CEO started a few years ago, the company started to focus less on engineering, but more on business. Engineering resource is lacking in most teams.

I have been working at FactSet full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Easy environment, low stress for most of the projects. Good for retirement and people who just looking to settle down.

    Cons

Very bad compensation, 2-3% raise last year and 0 raise this year except juniors on already low comp, major cut in bonus across the board. Ironically, the stock price keeps going up and the c suites getting significant raises.

    Advice to Management

Morale is extremely low in most of the engineering departments. People with good talents would not want to continue working here. Only the mediocre will stay. You need to care less about stock price and more about your employee.

I worked at FactSet full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The good: - Health care was top notch. - Starting pay for college graduates was good. The OK: - There is 401k matching but on a 5-year vesting schedule. - ESPP, with sell restrictions. - Lunch is free from the generic cafeteria. The food quality is pretty poor. - Work-life balance is alright, however, there is also on-call, so depending on the team you might have to carry your laptop around with you 20%... of the time and likely get paged in the middle of the night. You are not compensated for days of free time lost due to pages of unstable systems.

    Cons

    - Unexcusably low pay raises for top performers. - No bonuses. - Comp is pretty much evenly distributed across engineering, so don't expect more money if you work on a fast growing or revenue generating project. - A lot of engineers in Norwalk seem to be pretty unhappy. - Heavy outsourcing. - Ridiculous bureaucracy. - Management will pretty much lie to your face on a regular basis. - For an "engineering"... company, there are some pretty bad practices (No QA on some products, poor unit testing, old versions of languages and frameworks) - This is a feature factory

    Advice to Management

I think the actions that management has made over the past two years cannot be reversed (outsourcing, restructuring, low pay). The damage to moral is done, and I think they will start paying the price over the coming months, with a lot of talent leaving.
