    I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Awesome work culture in Sweden. Large company with excellent opportunities for international movement.

    Cons

Some organizations in North America struggles with power hungry managers in the line which more look to further themselves than to do what is best for the company. A lot of immigration to north america from offshore, where not all employees might be the top talent.

    Advice to Management

Ericsson North America should really look into the hiring practise of some of the newer (<10 years) upper level managers, which surround themselves with yes-sayers from outside the company that keeps their backs and covers up.

I have been working at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good friendly environment to work at. State of the art building in Montreal with daycare and good perks.

    Cons

Need a long transformation journey to become more of a modern and agile software company. Pay rate is not competitive and career paths are not well defined.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Moderately good environment, opportunity to learn and grow is good, some intermediate training is available if you don't mind doing it all on your own time, open hotel style office is challenging at first, but then you get to like the uncluttered environment, you have a place to sit or stand, a 5' desktop that goes up and down to your liking, your Laptop, softphone, and decent WiFi, what more do you really need? ... Loss of the gym was from old site did cause some issues and loss of time.

    Cons

Local Ericsson executive tended to take the disparaging word about staff from customers, over talking to staff and finding out what the real problems were and verifying that any statements made were indeed even true, valid or deserved. As existing staff were being laid off, more lower cost remote workers (paid in their own countries to avoid extra costs) were temporarily brought in to try to fulfil contracts. This... practice needs to be reviewed by our government and policy makers.

    Advice to Management

Learn to respect, communicate and support your local staff while you still can. I've seen this pattern before in other high-tech business where I have worked, and I'll let you in on a little secret; it didn't go well for those companies and some of them never recovered, becoming historical references of how not to run a business and grow and nurture staff. Your staff are a more important asset than short lifecycle... technology, please learn that and make the positive change.

I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    - flexible hours - gym - good benefits

    Cons

    - don't know how to evaluate employee - don't transfer knowlege, you do a better job to transfer knowlege to someone else, and then you will be the one to get layoff

    Advice to Management

    - you promote transfer knowlege but at the end you reward your employee with a layoff

I have been working at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

A lot of team building activities. People you work with are genuinely nice. Gym, cafeteria, a lot of health related activities. Flexibility on working hours, you do your work in the amount of hours you need. Not really micro managed. Always trying to improve you as a employee. Management takes time into listening to your wants and needs even though not everything can be achieved.

    Cons

Salary raises are very low. Moving up the ladder is very difficult, you might get stuck at same role for many years. Not much compensation and benefits.

    Advice to Management

Always try and actually listen to your employees. If you see that they have voiced themselves to want a promotion or feel that they need to be acknowledged for their work, show it to them.e
