Pros

They offer a flexible schedule, ping pong table. And a Margarita machine. There are some great people on staff with a lot of untapped potential.

Cons

There are no true leaders. The founder hires "experts" but doesn't allow them to exercise that very expertise - even if it's in the best interest of the company. If a staff member happens to disagree with him, your career is over there. They have lost a LOT of great staff in the past 12 months.

Pros

This company is small and works supporting local governments. The management team is very connected to the local community. Management also builds a personal connection to every employee as best they can. They are very sincere in the efforts they make to ensure this is a great place to work. Work-Life balance is very important to them and they reinforce that. I enjoy working here and don’t see myself going anywhere else. The company has finally let the “poison pill” people go and the stress they brought to the office is gone. Getting rid of those people have made a giant and unexpected improvement on employee morale.

Cons

A side effect of the personal connection management has is that it’s harder for them to let people go that shouldn’t be here. And when they do they lay them off so no one is fired. This means that poison pill people hang around far longer than they should. Being small and agile sometimes direction change can happen quickly. Crafting that message earlier to folks know what’s coming would could be better.

Pros

I enjoy working for my boss Rick; he truly cares about us and wants the best for everyone. Compared to my last job that almost made me pull my hair out, working at e-Gov has allowed me to now live a stress free life. I love being able to dress casual, enjoy great benefits that are affordable and a flexible schedule that allows me to take care of my family and my new grandbabies. Holidays are wonderful here; we get to enjoy just about every one because we follow the government holiday schedule. It's nice to know that I can relax knowing I will be spending many years here until retirement.

Cons

Everyone keeps asking me when the new daiquiri machine will be arriving and I am so busy that I can't seem to get upstairs to enjoy the ping pong table.
