Pros

Rewarding work - milestones are hard-won, and breaking through supplier deadlocks and setbacks or overcoming technical roadblocks delivers a genuine sense of achievement. Ownership - anyone in the team who demonstrates capability and accountability are given real responsibility and recognised for their impact. Highly committed team - the team is deeply aligned with the mission and focused on contributing and delivering. Low politics, minimal hierarchy - ideas are judged on their technical merit. Everyone has a voice and ultimately physics decides.

Cons

Fast paced - a pro and a con - the pace can be energising but is not for everyone, which can make hiring and onboarding challenging. Evolving priorities - priorities can shift and everyone has to keep up. requires proactive, clear, and fast communication to stay aligned. Resource constraints - although hiring is a big priority, new joiners are expected to ramp quickly and contribute meaningfully.

The problems you solve at Zero Point Motion go beyond researching existing approaches. You're encouraged to develop your own solutions, prioritising explainable results and good architecture. The company provides the tools and resources needed to tackle these challenges, while giving you the freedom to experiment and iterate on ideas quickly. The work can be demanding, but it's rewarding because you're working on cutting-edge technology and have a direct impact on the final product.

Cons

The work can be demanding, and it's not unusual to put in extra hours when tackling difficult technical challenges or working towards project deadlines. You need to be comfortable with adapting quickly as requirements evolve.

Pros

- Really interesting tech and sharp motivated team - CEO’s very open about customers, funding, and direction, you always know what’s going on - Plenty of room to grow if you take ownership and deliver - Everyone helps each other out, all sit in the same room and approachable - just people trying to get stuff done - Decent perks: regular catering, drinks fridge, fruit/snacks, one WFH day each week - The team’s been automating a lot lately, which makes things smoother as we scale - They don’t gloss over that it’s challenging, we joke about how close it’s to the show Silicon Valley. Real startup life isn’t glamorous even when we have impressive partners and customers, but fun if you’re wired for it

Cons

- Pace is what you expect from a startup - gets intense mostly because suppliers don’t always take you seriously, which can be frustrating and means we need to push harder for deadlines. We've had to get creative, strategise more - Docs and structure took a bit of time to catch up, but since hiring software engineers it’s improved massively - It’s demanding sometimes, but there’s flexibility on when and how you work as long as the job gets done
