Promotion based on politics./No promotions. Swanky place to work/cool designers. - Anonymous Employee Wink NYC Employee Review

Pros
Really fun place to work! Great discount in the store (W Hotels the Store), also get a discount at all Starwood Hotels. Carry popular designers and some that are under the radar and very cool. There's a lounge where you can eat for free, sometimes good. Frequently see celebrities that are staying in the hotel. Good music and ambiance. Work by yourself (not micromanaged while you're there.)
Cons
Very stingy. Do not invest in their employees. Corporate has no idea what's going on in stores that are outside of NYC/does not know target market, as it varies with each location. Do not want to pay for parking, or office supplies. Extremely high turnover, in retail employees as well as corporate.

Pros
50% off as an employee discount
Cons
Unless you are a manager there are NO benefits, even if the hiring add implied there were. They qualify you as part time by scheduling you 32 hours per week (36 would mean you're eligible for benefits) but then they often over-schedule you for a full 40 hours, which is not something you have a choice about. They claim to promote from within the company and state that there is room to grow and move up the chain and that is a flat out lie. The store is open from 9 AM to midnight so expect to work the worst hours ever. Company sales are so low that your 3% commission of nearly zero sales is pretty useless. They tell you you'll get a great Starwood Hotels discount but rarely are there ever dates or locations at which you can use said discount
