Pros

Most of my colleagues are great people to work with and I have made many friends at TE. Benefits are excellent when compared to other companies. Hours are flexible (if you have one of the good bosses).

Cons

MONEY MONEY MONEY. Pay is not appropriated fairly and there are little to no increases in pay over the years. Even a promotion leads to a very small pay increase as new employees are brought into lower postions with less years of experience and make higher salaries than you. Raises are typically only a few cents more per hour even though your job performance was said to exceed expectations at review time. Reviews and goals are a joke. Employees are not held to the same standards and if someone has been here a long time they can get away with doing next to nothing while everyone else has to pick up the slack instead of getting rid of the excess baggage and hiring employees who will do the work, as we are so backed up and clogged with work that we do not have enough manpower for. The org structure makes absolutely no sense and no one knows who to go to for what. Job roles and responsibilites are not clearly defined. Management has their own agenda and does not fight for its employees while the rest of us are left to fend for ourselves. Communcation is a HUGE con. Important information is not communicated to the appropriate individuals while non-important information is given to those who do not need to know. I could go on and on and on and on. I have no idea how this company even makes any money at all with the way it is run.

Pros

Broadly a good company if you’re in a senior decision making role.

Cons

HR policies are words only. Years go by without ability to take any PTO and carry over not allowed. Friday afternoons, all HR US employees stop working with all others working past normal business hours and into the weekend including late Friday asks to complete an action by Monday 8:00 AM that was known earlier in the week but only communicated to the employee after Friday business hours. Every Friday. Onboarding structure / sink or swim approach, no training. No sense of belonging unless you’ve worked here 20 years plus. No growth or development opportunities unless tapped on the shoulder. Many openings are never published, again tapped on the shoulder approach despite offering to volunteer. Dismissive company culture. Every Voice Counts initiative is code for: if you do share your voice, you are on a list to not consider for promotion or any projects that would give you more visibility across the organization to foster one’s growth.
