Pros

There are some good and hardworking people working there in Engineering roles.

Cons

The main issue with the SoftServe company is that basically after leading their complex and very important project for around 3.5 years they just thrash out me in couple of days because of the client budget cutoff. Basically the company promoting people values/trying to pretend to care about employees, etc. This is just a false impression - and reality is that SoftServe is just a typical outsourcer who cares only about the merge they can get from the resource and once the it's gone, they no longer require you. And general cons is already covered on other reviews : - Promotion process, its quite complicated and without a clear goals. The system company uses is rather to control the spend on promotions, but not focusing on praising achievements of individual - Double standards, Politicism in Management - Low competent PE Services - Salaries, they are not high. You can work for years without any increase if you're not constantly fighting with it. - VP Positions are just filled with someone that have connections/rather than professionals

SoftServe Response
4y
We agree, our associates are great and we do work hard. We also try to have fun along the way. Unfortunately, sometimes client decisions are out of our control, and while we try our best to limit the impact it might have our our people, we don't always win. We are very proud of all the great things we do do that make us not a typical outsourcing company - like our SoftServe University, our Open Eyes and Open Tech charity activities, joining the UN Global Compact and being committed to sustainablitiy. We believe these intiatives make SoftServe stand out from the crowd.

Pros

Decent pay but you will be expected to manage multiple client projects at the same time in an expedited timeframe and are often flying solo. If you come from traditional consulting, these projects will feel insane and unrealistic to deliver true quality.

Cons

All about who you know, not what you do here. Expect to have to work at 150% capacity plus spend at least 50% of capacity networking. You will be constantly asked to deliver with unrealistic timelines. People (i.e. business analyst group) are constantly stepping over boundaries and claiming work others with more expertise in a specific area should own. It is a constant cluster mess and I (as a junior associate) have been on my fair share of calls where leadership is yelling at each other about stepping into each other’s territories. I can only imagine what occurs on the pure leadership calls. Lots of people in director and above positions are on an egotistical trip and have zero interest in the team’s ideas, knowledge, or expertise. You will spend many phone calls just listening to the leader brag about themselves for 55 straight minutes.
