Pros

Comparable pay to other similar organizations. Employee retail discount program. Encountered one decent district manager during my tenure with Sodexo.

Cons

Lack of opportunity to promote and develop hourly associates to salaried roles of greater responsibility. Sodexo hires more from the outside rather than look within the organization for advancement opporunities. Lack of opportunity to promote managers within the organization to roles with greater responsibility. Little to no work life balance. Promote/hire in managers without the regulatory required credentials (CDM, DTR, or RD) for a Healthcare/Senior Services GM role when it is stated as a requirement on Sodexo's job posting.

Pros

My direct coworkers and other onsite employees are amazing and some of the nicest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met. The day to day responsibilities are enjoyable to work on most days. Company phone provided for work communications during work hours (you don’t have to take them home with you) Free meals on shifts worked (with restrictions) “Set schedule”

Cons

Work life balance is not great. You hire on for one position or schedule and then end up being required to perform job duties that are outside of your description on top of your daily responsibilities. Wages are really low. Unfair distribution of allotted overtime hours. Benefits are not good either. Insurance is really expensive for not great coverage. Maternity leave is only 6 weeks and only 60% of your pay covered by short term disability (that you pay for out of pocket until 2 years of service)
