In late 2024, after the parent company, Printful, announced a merger with a rival print on demand company, Printify, layoffs were announced.
Snow Commerce employees were invited to the company-wide all-hands meetings where the layoff plans were discussed and timelines shared with the employees. However, Snow Commerce conducted surprise layoffs that occurred weeks to months before the communicated dates, all while the C-suite of the new organization pat themselves on the back for "going above and beyond the legal requirement".
The surprise advanced timing of the layoffs ensured that I was not eligible for the 2024 bonus program. I perceived this timing as very intentional.
The decentralized structure of the organization created many challenges and workflow delays.
The staff on my team was underpaid relative to market rates for various positions, before the layoffs.
