I would like to share my experience working at SecondMedic in the hope that it brings awareness to potential candidates and encourages positive changes within the organization. During my time at SecondMedic, one of the most pressing issues I faced was the lack of role clarity. Despite being hired for a specific position, the responsibilities often diverged significantly from the job description. Irrespective of the department — be it marketing, social media, or operations — the core focus was ultimately on driving sales, generating revenue, and acquiring bookings. Even as a Social Media Manager, I was expected to find clients independently, onboard them, and contribute directly to the sales funnel. This blurred distinction between roles led to confusion and inefficiency. Additionally, there is a noticeable absence of structured onboarding processes or clear departmental frameworks. Employees are frequently shifted from one task or process to another without adequate communication or training, which creates a disorganized and often demoralizing work environment. The HR and holiday systems also reflect inconsistency and, at times, a bias toward certain religious observances, which can make others feel excluded or undervalued. The lack of a supportive HR structure made it particularly difficult for me during a time when I was struggling with mental health and self-esteem. There was no clear support system or acknowledgment of employee well-being. In summary, while the company may have ambitious goals in terms of growth and revenue, it is important that equal emphasis is placed on creating a clear, inclusive, and supportive work culture. Transparent role definitions, structured processes, and an empathetic approach to employee welfare would go a long way in improving the organization from the inside out.
