Pros

The Ritz-Carlton makes advancement in the company an easy choice. They promote the growth of each employee as an individual and focus on each person's goals. The company also makes it very easy to move to new locations throughout the world. The Ritz-Carlton is a company that hires good employees who are proud to work for the organization and who are interested in working hard every day to keep the customers proud to be customers. Employees do not need to worry if their fellow employees are working hard and toward the same goal, as they always are. In general, salaries at Ritz-Carlton hotels tends to be competitive with or higher than that of similar companies in the same area.

Cons

No matter which property you work at or what your position, you will work long hours. The company is very concerned with spending on overtime; however, they are more concerned with the care of their guests and owners. Ritz-Carlton hotels and residences are very structured, which is a bonus to employees who function well in structured environments but can be difficult for employees who prefer a more fluid environment. Guests and owners are quite varried depending on the property, and guests and owners at many properties can be very demanding and at times demeaning to staff (this can be the case with all service industry jobs). Lastly, for employees who let their jobs take on a major roll in their life, it can be hard to leave work and work and enjoy any time off. Some employees find themselves constantly working or thinking about work.

Pros

Hotel Benefits would convenient at times

Cons

Horrible to work at the Ritz Carlton Boston. I was terminated because someone decided to report me they I was nodding off briefly in the office. They first suspended me with a notice explaining my suspension and then they terminated me with a different notice with the summary of that notice not matching up with the suspension notice. Human Resources lied to me and told me that the reason they found out I nodded off was because they were reviewing footage for something and just happened to come across me on camera which does not add up to the two statements I received. Cafeteria food was terrible. You would think a five star hotel would cook better food. Sometimes the food was burnt and did not taste good at all!!!
