Pros
The foster care program is a good start for someone who is starting straight out of school or is in the process of finishing their degree and needs on-site hours. It’s very rewarding meeting the kids and connecting with them. You can learn a lot about the inner workings of case management because you get to tag along for home visits and youth contacts.
Cons
Communication is lacking, especially when you’re just interning. The staff sometimes forgets to include you in emails and you have to email them for their schedules.
