Pros
The students do great work, and some of the new staff are very devoted and passionate about their work. There is lots of space in the Sydney building and the location is handy, although out of town. Fashion Marketing, and Digital Media are excellent courses.
Cons
The huge potential is lost with the lack of clear governance, policy, ethics, integrity, and separation of academic control from financial dependence. The owners are too involved with the academic issues and disrupt the clear process of leadership from those charged by the government to lead the college. Lack of standards in the past had brought the college down, and will continue to cast a dark shadow making it hard for some of the devoted staff and administrators from achieving genuine results. An owner supported leadership is the cause of serious problems that they will now face that in the end impacts on the education of the students. Beyond governance, policy and owners interference in academic issues, the course structure needs review and updating to move away from the craft system and more towards a 21st C model of design thinking. In general, this is a terrible place to work but there are very good people there trying hard in a system that is flawed.
