Pros

The Louisville office was close to home. Tampa based VP allowed me to lead my team without too much interference. I worked with some of the most intelligent men and women. Luckily I work or have worked with these same individuals since we all chose to leave Pharmerica. All advancing in their careers.

Cons

VPs and some in the C level suite set a tone of cut throat management. It was common place for the CEO to walk past employees and not acknowledge their presence verbally or through eye contact. The use of the F bomb, screaming and threats during management meetings was common place. My VP provided good leadership and I learned a great deal. Unfortunately my direct manager could be a tyrant threatening my direct reports over the phone without my knowledge. It was not uncommon for vacations to be canceled days or hours before planned approved leave. This sort of behavior in a pharmacy corporation can cause mistakes that can harm or kill a pateint. Most people do not believe my stories of working here but they are all true. Many of the same leaders remain with this company.

Cons

Absence of structured or comprehensive training programs for new employees. Inconsistent and poorly managed scheduling, leading to unpredictability and work-life balance challenges. Failure to deliver promised sign-on bonuses, with inconsistent application between direct hires and temp-to-hire employees. Reliance on severely outdated systems and software, which significantly hinders efficiency and daily productivity. Noticeably high employee turnover rate, indicative of deeper organizational issues. Recruitment of temporary staff with attractive initial pay rates, followed by reductions upon conversion to permanent status, which erodes trust and morale.
