Pros

You get to work on and learn about significant policy issues that truly matter to the state. You get to work with some very nice people who care about making state governance work better. You don't have to work very hard most of the time.

Cons

Odd pairing where they hire very talented and motivated people to do the work and then ask them to do very little. The pay is far too low for an organization in one of the world's highest cost of living cities. Career development is not a point of emphasis. Organization is very resistant to change.

Pros

Many staff want to work remote and in the office, and this company has not given explicit return to office requirements, or mandatory in office days, which I appreciate a lot

Cons

Disconnect between highest ranked and lowest ranked employees
