Pros

Great people to work with. Clients are generally nice. Good opportunity to work with people from different backgrounds and with different mental health. Exposure to complex mental health (can be rewarding if you are studying to be a psychologist/ social worker

Cons

Often short staffed and at times did 24+ hour shifts. The industry also does not have enough in the budget to have constant meetings when working on a complex team

Pros

Experience to use on your resume, but not ideal for long-term work.

Cons

This is NOT a place to grow your career. The executive suite continually looks for "industry pros" and then does NOT let them do their jobs. Just when you think you know what's wanted, the goalpost is moved - sometimes back and forth over and over. And if this executive suite sees you as someone who can't do their job (inevitably because of these moving goal-posts), you will be let go without a thought. Even when you work for the company for long years, there is no hope of real promotion unless you've somehow managed to become an "industry leader" while working ridiculously long hours for the company. Seeing the topics that come up in the CEO's Daily Executive Briefing are very ironic when it"s great advice to other healthcare-related executives, but she's tone-deaf that "her own words" about how to run an organization (written by her team, not her) also apply to 'herself'.
