Pros

Opal has a strong team with super talented, fun, and thoughtful people. Engineering talent is top-notch. The customer-base is impressive and the company is already selling to big names. On top of all that, Opal meaningfully improves the security posture of customers all the while helping their employees get access to the tools they need. The team moves fast but also pays close attention to quality. Leadership is thoughtful and with very little ego.

Cons

As a small startup, there is not too much structure/clearly defined processes and roles. This may not be for everyone but may change as the company grows. Work-life balance may be a challenge for some without some careful boundary-drawing: Opal employees work hard out of their own volition.

Pros

Highly competent and technical team. Engineering hires a lot of new grads, and also strong leadership at the EM and CTO layer. GTM has a lot of relevant industry experience. Come learn from the best!

Cons

Industry is highly competitive, as a lot of identity security vendors have converged on the AI agents problem. Opal still has the best logos, but other vendors also now have significant momentum.

Pros

Everyone on board is extremely dedicated to building a great product and company. The product iterates quickly with new, highly valued features consistently being released. It is a great, fast-paced environment to learn as an engineer. People will care enough to give quality mentorship. Being on a smaller team means plenty of opportunity to make impact on the product. No regrets joining this team.

Cons

The company definitely experiences the expected growing pains of a fast-paced startup. It is a lean team across the board. People come and go, which can feel jarring to smaller teams. Leadership really cares about bringing the right people onboard so hiring feels slower.
