Pros

The only positive I can safely take from my time with NIT are the technicians that work there. They are treated with such disrespect by the owner and 3/4 of the management team but keep doing an excellent job. I have been in IT for close to 15 years and the techs do great work for what they have and the poor direction they are thrown into. They make the best of every abysmal situation they are placed into by management and for that are deserving of much more than NIT.

Cons

Cons, where to begin? I worked for the employer prior to NIT for 4 years. I left because I was searching for a position with a higher ceiling. I found a job posting for a System Administrator with NIT, which was my current position at the time, so I applied. When I interviewed however I was lead to believe the position was actually more of a management position with minimal travel. Wrong on all accounts. From day one I was a field service tech because the owner had no idea as to the scope of which he was hiring me for. I quickly learned that the owner in fact did zero research in starting or running an IT company. As I mentioned, I have had a number of years of experience in a variety of IT Departments, both small and large and this was by far the worst I have ever encountered. From an IT standpoint it is a duct taped, throw darts at a dart board, flip a coin type of approach. The decisions that are made at times are baffling. Almost to the point of being laughable. The fact that the administration staff consists of 4 people, all of which have zero experience in IT speaks volumes, in my opinion. This also caused a constant and unsettling rift between the technicians and the management staff. The only management team member that had a clear enough picture was the office manager, but even he would find himself belittled and berated by the Owner. I have never worked for someone with such disregard for the mental well being of his employees. He is a labor lawsuit waiting to happen for creating and encouraging such a toxic work environment. In all of my years working I have never been treated in such a manor. I saw him make threats of physical harm to other employees. I was even questioned in regards to my ability to be a parent. He crosses lines that no employer has the right to cross. I have never worked in a place so focused on punishment and have such neglect for reward in my entire life. The owner also has zero tact when it comes to speaking with clients. I was witness to a few occasions where I felt the air get sucked out of the room when he tried to sell a solution. I have never witnessed a more cringe inducing approach to human interaction. Overall, I will say another positive, which is I will never again act as if the grass is always greener. I thought that prior to coming on board to NIT and I was quickly jostled into reality.

Pros

I've been with Network Information Technologies (NIT) for 18 months, and it's been a great experience. The team is collaborative, leadership is supportive, and there are plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. One of the best things about working at NIT is the culture. Everyone is willing to help each other, and there's a real sense of teamwork. Leadership is approachable and open to new ideas, which makes a big difference in feeling valued as an employee. The company also invests in training and professional development, which has helped me expand my skill set and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends. It's clear that they care about employee growth and want to see their team succeed. NIT is a great place to work if you're looking for a supportive environment with room to grow.

Cons

Small meeting space for company training events.

Pros

The best part of this job was my fellow technicians. The technicians I worked with were smart, helpful, hard-working individuals. I learned more from these people than I did anywhere else.

Cons

The pay is sub-par, but I guess most jobs are these days. I could have dealt with that if I felt appreciated in any way by management. There is a huge rift between the technicians and management that I attempted to close in my time there, but neither management, nor my fellow techs seemed to care enough to do anything about it, which is ultimately the reason why I quit. The level of incompetence at this company is unheard of. The owner often tried to criticize the work of technicians from a technical standpoint when he himself is not a technician. He would get involved in the day to day work rather than do his job of managing and running the company which ultimately led to the frustration of everyone. Our clients did not like him and often told me they felt like he was trying to intimidate them and had no tact. The administrative staff, with the exception of one person, sit and waste time, criticize the technicians, and generally don't know what they're doing. If there was one phrase to describe this company, it's "gross mismanagement."
