Pros

You get staff discount on childcare at

Cons

Senior management need to focus more on their current staff and making sure they aren't understaff. If they can cut corners to save money at the cost of staffs wellbeing they will. You will be asked to work on your days off 9/10 times.

Pros

The children at each nursery thoroughly enjoyed their time there, often forming strong bonds with their peers

Cons

The sense of feeling valued by management was barely there, unless you were exceptionally close with them. Often times staff would pick favourites amongst the children, and would leave others to manage out of ratio with the children who needed either one to one care, or were reaching the more 'reluctant' stages of listening. This would often lead to children being unable to be appropriately looked out for, and management would often create issues with poor treatment of staff. Most of the establishments had a great team bond amongst the practitioners themselves, but due to management and the expectations to work beyond the job title, there was often a high turn over of staff. Achievements were barely recognised, unless it was a senior staff member achieving them, wages never scraped more than 8p above minimum wage. Whether you were qualified or not, you were expected to do the same job as those who were, often with very little difference in wages.
