Pros

The positives are really due more with the client I was placed with the exception of the local Mphasis IT . There is a divide between IT working with the client's programs and Mphasis IT (both are Mphasis IT). The local IT located in the client's office were always helpful, even with issues they technically couldn't touch because it was a Mphasis IT issue.

Cons

By default, if you are a woman, even dealing with other women, you will be spoken over, ignored, mansplained, and spoken to in a very snitty tone. Spoke to several men and they always said 'I never had any issues,'. In contrast, the women in the office often shared the same experiences of being spoken to poorly and having IT fail them (saying they will reset passwords, but don't men, in general, speaking over women, speak very quickly, and when you ask them to repeat and slow down, they refuse and demean you for even asking). Dealing with IT for Mphasis specific items you are either dealing with someone in downtown Calgary or India- total nightmare for the reasons listed above as well as they are always trying to bounce responsibility to the client IT without giving the client IT any ability to resolve the issue- caused IT issues to take months to resolve. Working with the client each person has 3 emails to take care of including their Mphasis inbox. Mphasis spams employees with 100s of emails each week- none of it relevant to working with the client nor for development as an Mphasis employee. But employees need to comb thru carefully for that occasional demand to read a policy, sign a disclosure, or have IT reach out to you. They send 100s of emails such as 'are you familiar with our sexual harassment policy', and several other policies. It's fine to receive once, But even when you read up on the policies, you'll receive the same emails weekly. They constantly hound you for details not on your resume and irrelevant to your job. Eg- if you were hired based on your experience and not for any education levels, or you take university courses, why hound your employees for your high school diploma from 20 years ago? Also, they push people to send thank you's which they tally up for your performance review (both what you send and receive goes towards your performance appraisal). They email employees without this info regularly, telling them they can't be considered for a new role without this information. Also, Employees are emailed every thank you sent to every employee, including those not with the same company you are with. Do we really need an alert for every thank you sent all over Canada with all of your clients? So you can clear out your emails on a Friday, and by Wednesday, there are 200 emails or more in your inbox- all unnecessary. I could go on- there are so many other ways working with them is so negative, but that would require a lot more space.
