Pros

Interesting projects, strong design quality, great firm staff culture, reasonable comp time policy for overtime, very good continuing education program, beautiful waterfront location, sustainable practices, incorporates research and case studies in work, open to innovative ideas, interdisciplinary design approach is exciting

Cons

Top heavy, favoritism, lack of transparency, lacks diversity / equitable opportunity, big egos, reputation supersedes experience, policies doesn't align with advocated practice (lacks integrity), different principals have very different values/approaches making it nearly impossible for staff to be successful, very demanding project schedules and clients

Pros

Mithun is an inclusive, diverse, and highly professional firm. The team is supportive and collaborative, creating an environment where different voices and perspectives are valued. Their design work is thoughtful, innovative, and consistently high-quality. It’s inspiring to be part of a company that not only delivers excellent projects but also truly cares about people and the communities they serve.

Cons

I really can’t think of any.

Pros

Project types are so unique and many really do try to leave a positive impact. Many people are truly kind, especially middle management. Provides decent health insurance, and includes therapy for mental health. Definitely one of the higher salary firms.

Cons

Partners at the firm only care about winning clients and awards. They don't seem to understand billing? Everyone gets worked overtime because 10 new iterations are expected to be produced everyday individually, and then scolded for billing too many hours. Upper management needs to pick a lane - healthy work/life balance with profitability or churning through burned out workers with less profit. It's also a very white firm. POC, take care. The implicit bias is sky high. Very stingy with PTO on hire. Very little transparency. There is no negotiation for pay raises, no negotiation for promotions. No one seems to understand how to conduct an annual review? No explanation on how to get promoted. Very weird "we're a family" messaging. Reality checks are frowned upon here. Unhealthy boundaries are celebrated here. Generally uncanny valley positivity.
