Pros

Flexible Schedule. The office has many recreational areas for employees. Nice and clean installations (Met Council Office and the Chesed Brooklyn Hub).

Cons

Some of the improvements that can help Met Council are: 1. The salary of an old worker always needs to be the same or more than the new hires, because with these politics, Met Council can lose good workers that have been working more time and have more experience than the new workers. An example of this is Ety, a Chesed worker that left the job last year, because the new hires get paid more than her. She was working full time and she helped all the clients of the Chesed Center in many aspects. 2. The Chesed Center had thousand of clients, but many people didn't know that the Chesed Center changed address. Somebody needs to inform all of the clients of the new address of the Chesed Center. 3. The Chesed Center needs two Russian speakers for the SNAP program because it has a lot of Russian speakers. It used to have two workers that covered the week six months ago, but for six months they didn't replace the other Russian speaker worker. Only one Russian speaker worker has been working three days. Only one person has been working for the SNAP program for six months, for this reason we lost many clients that came the other days. 4. The Chesed Center will need in the future one Spanish speaker in case we expand the services to the Spanish community. 5. Regular workers of Met Council need to be informed about meetings two weeks in advance because we usually have a lot of clients every week. The emergency meetings are only good on special and important circumstances. 6. The president and manager of every department will need to show more education and respect to a regular worker. A person cannot yell to someone because of her position. When you show respect and treat everyone with respect you are showing that you have education and the position that you have doesn't affect your intellect.

Pros

What I value most about working with Met Council is its strong mission to support those in need, the company’s dedication to employee engagement, and its excellent work-life balance. Additionally, management's consistent focus on improvement—whether it's optimizing work processes or finding new ways to better serve both employees and clients—creates a positive and forward-thinking environment. It's inspiring to be part of an organization that constantly strives for better outcomes in every aspect of its operations.

Cons

While Met Council does an excellent job connecting colleagues from different locations during the annual staff retreat, I believe it would be beneficial to have more frequent opportunities to meet and collaborate with team members from other locations throughout the year. Expanding these interactions could foster stronger relationships, improve cross-location collaboration, and enhance the sense of unity within the organization. More regular networking or team-building events could be a valuable addition.
