I don't remember what work life balance is. - Service Delivery Specialist Mercer Employee Review

Pros

If you're hired externally, they pay decently well. Culturally, "being in the trenches together" during Q4 means you're close with your coworkers.

Cons

Management half-bakes every idea/strategy before rolling them out. We are never staffed adequately, our roles are never defined properly, and the expectation of hours worked (I average 14 hour days in Q4) are absurd. There are training modules for age-old positions and departments, but any new programs are met with employees who are completely in the dark for most of their first year. Expectations on lower to middle management to properly engage their employees are unfair given top-to-bottom decision making issues.

Mercer colleague, Thank you for the feedback. We are disappointed to hear about the experience you had while at Mercer. The pace of change is faster than ever before so, like in many other companies, we strive to provide stability and work-life balance for all of our colleagues while adapting to an environment that is ever-evolving, innovative and focused on the future of work. All of that involves a lot of changes and we understand how efficiency changes over the years can be challenging. We take a great deal of pride in our culture, values, and leadership. If you are willing to provide more insight into your experience, feel free to contact us at ColleagueFeedback@Mercer.com.

Pros

Remote flexibility, which is nice.

Cons

You will not get a raise and if you do, it'll be 1%. Managers will not help you with escalating issues, you're on your own. It'll be blamed on you. You'll work so much overtime you won't have a social life.
