Pros

You learn a lot and are allowed to work autonomously. You are given the opportunity to counsel clients on a daily basis which is not the case in most law firms. You can work at your own pace, and billable hours, although required, do not effect your employment status if below the required amount. Awesome co-workers and all and all a great experience. There are many bad reviews, but I think they are due to personal issues those individuals had with the CEO and also a result of the company having been fairly new at the time. If you are smart and willing to work hard, you can become a seasoned attorney in less than two years. LF is especially great for legal assistants, because they are not required or asked to do administrative tasks, rather, they are in the trenches with their assigned attorney(s) talking to clients to help resolve their legal issues. After two years, most assistants are able to get positions at large law firms in Silicon Valley. This is not a traditional law firm, it has a start up environment, which means that you can be casual, joke around, have fun, and make it your own place. Best of all, you are allowed to make mistakes.

Cons

Pay is below industry standard, but it is substituted with education and really learning how to be an attorney and/or assistant. Lack of senior counsel for support. Lack of research resources, you will have to be savvy at google searches to update yourself at the law.

Pros

The staff are great. They will do everything in their power to help you or figure out how the best way to get your job done or who to send things too. They work as a team should to support you and each other.

Cons

The CEO Raj is a joke. There is no HR. They would keep starting new Programs or services to help out the company and it would always end up hurting more than anything and always lose important data. Would try to keep CS by saying "your the front line, you talk with the customers" but when we would need them, they would disappear. Never provided updated information on current pricing, new services we offered or were no longer being offered, or when updates were done to the website. Would not provide support or training on services we offered, were told to "do your own research". When asked to hire new people to help, instead they would take someone from the India team and put them there because they were cheaper and we would end up with Angry or upset customers because they could not not feel like they were getting personal service or the India team would not understand the issue and end up not wanting to stay with the company. Whole company was told to Defend yourself or your job is going to India. No real chances to progress or move up. Always will try to hire someone for cheap and than drown them will lot of work and they will leave within 6 months. Hard to keep people. Run far away.
