Positive, flexible, family-friendly workplace - Administration Knowledge Based Systems Employee Review

Pros

Remote work/flexibility; encourages learning and growth as individuals; supportive of family priorities and needs; employer pays 100% health coverage for the employee; 401k matching; bonuses great and raises are improving.

Cons

About 90% of the office is remote, and scattered in different locations, so it makes team-building difficult. As a smaller company, leave/holiday benefits are not exactly up to par. But other benefits outweigh.

Pros

The company excels in advanced research and software development across diverse projects driven by the needs of government customers. The culture is very laid-back, and employees are trusted to take ownership of their tasks. There’s a strong sense of independence in problem-solving, which rewards creativity and fosters self-reliance. As a small company with a flat hierarchy, there are no structural barriers to collaboration, making it easy to work with anyone at any level of the organization. The team is exceptionally smart, with highly skilled individuals who bring deep expertise to their fields. Working alongside such talented and driven colleagues fosters growth, sparks innovative ideas, and creates an environment where you are constantly learning. This open and collaborative culture not only encourages initiative and innovation but also creates a close-knit, “family” feel among employees.

Cons

While the flat hierarchy and open culture can be a pro, the lack of formal structure has led to a lack of defined intervals for performance reviews and associated compensation adjustments.
