Senior management were just sales people...they could have been selling widgets. Not much real understanding of the benefits of HR and what it can do for a business. The internal HR processes and approach to employees was very basic and not as developed as you would expect from a company selling HR products...but as a company dominated by Sales people it was easy to see why.
