Pros

I am wracking my brain trying to think of the positives of working at this company. Unfortunately, I can't think of one. Oh, wait, I do have one positive - some of the people I worked with here were awesome and very talented; however, these people were never given the opportunity to shine or be promoted within the company. All of these other reviews that have so much good to say about the company have clearly been paid or asked to write good reviews about the company....as nobody I know there would say something nice like that.

Cons

Hmmmm, where do I begin? First of all, the "values" the company has are complete bull crap. These are simple statements the company jotted down, printed on posters, and claimed they were the JetSuite values by which they lived and breathed. Not the case. These values have simply been put into place to satisfy Tony Hsieh's (he is one of the owners of the company) request for the company to have a unique and innovative culture with strong values to back it up. I bet if Tony Hsieh worked in that office for one whole week he would see what kind of BS company he has invested in, take his money, and kiss JetSuite goodbye. Secondly, the culture sucks. The culture and the values are two things that seem to go hand in hand in most companies. So, since JetSuite's values suck so bad (I couldn't even remember all 10 of them if I tried), then it comes as no surprise that the company culture, or as they refer to it "Corporate Soul", also sucks as well. My soul was sucked out of me when I worked here and I am still probing Orange County looking for it...I am sure it was sold to the devil in a desperate attempt to try to get Cessna to sell them airplanes again. Moving on. Despite having an entire team of 4 dedicated to Corporate Soul, the company still has no idea how to create an environment that is inviting and exciting to employees. There are hardly any benefits, there is no sick pay, and the workers here don't even get holidays. That sounds like a company you want to work for, right? The company also has no rewards or recognition for employees. When employees do a good job or go above and beyond it is as if it is completely expected. In turn, this causes people to lose a vested interested in the development of the company! They also work their operations department like dogs. When department is short staffed the company expects those who are still there to just work 100 hours a week - and they wonder why so many people quit! Finally, the favoritism there is awful. There are a few people in the organization that they think is God's gift to JetSuite. Barf. These people get promotions from entry level positions to manager and director level positions. Weird, right? I thought so too. These people have no qualifications to be in these positions and get paid exponentially higher than people who can actually do the job way better than they can. Those that they don't like get placed in cubicles in the corner, are told they aren't valued enough to be getting raises, and are straight up treated like dirt. Sad thing is that management knows this and practically acknowledges that they treat most people there awfully. They don't care though. The environment is very hostile. When management has a bad day the whole company is sure to have a bad day. Doors are slammed, curse words are thrown, and occasionally people quit on the spot. It also doesn't help that someone in the top executive team is sleeping with someone in the mid management level - one reporting directly to the other. Seems like a conflict of interest to me, but what do I know?

Pros

-Get to work on large projects and give direct input to management. -Interface with CEO, President, and other executive on a daily basis. -Cross training allows an employee to learn a great deal about aviation, customer service, sales, and airline operations is a very short amount of time. -Pay is competitive for the industry. -Some of the best people you will ever work with or learn from.

Cons

-Opportunities for advancement are far and few between. -Management is typically impulsive which causes inconsistency for clients and employees. -There are almost as many managers and supervisors as there are entry level employees. -Managers spend more time on projects and extra curricular tasks than on dealing with daily activities and issues. -While the employees are great people, the general demeanor in the office is one of frustration and unhappiness toward management due to a lack of accountability or assistance on their part. -The company values are not followed by the executive team which really makes it hard to get other managers and employees to get on board.
