Pros

Good people, community / sustainability agenda, supportive of employees, good compensation and flexible work practices. The Company offers opportunities for career growth.

Cons

Tough time for insurance, poor financial results in 2008. Company is current in a significant period of change and is shifting to a decentralised model. Once this is completed, I expect we will move to a very positive outlook. QBE has been stalking the Group, so there is a possibility of a takeover in the next 12 to 18 months.

Advice to Management

Focus on getting the key things right and restoring the Group to solid profitability.

    I worked at Insurance Australia Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    It was a good place to work to start off with. Great work life balance was also in place. Had some great knowledgeable managers who really helped me grow.

    Cons

    - Organisation continuously was restructuring which meant you never were safe in your role.

    - They do not know how to keep good talent- offer more and provide better work life balance which was never the case.

    - Promised jobs would not go overseas- they went shortly after this statement was said.

    Advice to Management

    Work out what you actually want- maybe management is aware what they want but it is not transparent through to employees, be honest with your staff.

    Fast paced environment, variety of calls, supportive environment, good opportunity for career development if you want a career in the insurance industry.

    Cons

    It's a contact centre, so the work can be quite monotonous.
