Pros

Excellent life work balance. Lots of life not a lot of work.

Cons

Good for juniors to learn the business but leave after 2/3 years if you wish for real career prospects. Stagnant and bureaucratic, environment good for people close to retirement.

Pros

Working at Insight is fine IF you have a decent manager.

Cons

My manager was a hire suggestion from a c-suite exec, and let’s just say it would have been great if they would have interviewed literally anyone else! The most extreme micromanagement and severe loquaciousness I have ever encountered in my life, my ultimate pet peeve. I don’t think I’m alone in that I don’t appreciate being asked a question and being immediately cut off mid-sentence. I lost all of my ability to persuade or influence because this person is so convinced that they know best. This is an industry where it is really important to lead with calmness and conciseness. Someone told me that after their years of experience (apologies for vagueness) with other asset managers, Insight stands out as the most disorganized and the least able to communicate effectively. It’s really bad in that regard.
