Pros

This job was very easy, there were no hard deadlines and there was no micro-managing. There was high turnover, but it allowed me to grow my network in the IP space. Farewell gatherings were fun - the company provided Tiff's Treats, so we ate a lot of cookies! I had a good work/life balance - it was more of a vacation/life balance. I was only at the office for 40 hours a week and I never worked a weekend.

Cons

Hmmm, I could think of so many negatives about this place. I mean where do I start... Well, here's a start - empty promises, lack of raises, minimal bonuses, poor leadership, inexperienced management, poor hiring and no meritocracy. Oh and if you are a guy and have a strong, assertive attitude, then watch your back - you will be on the chopping block next! Don't waste your time working here, there's ZERO long term potential.

Pros

Opportunities to work with very smart hardworking individuals, salaries are average

Cons

Did you read the "pro" above and go "that's just what I've been looking for"? Well keep reading. The culture is competitive but not the "let's make each other better competitive", more like the Tonya Harding kind of competitive. I've witnessed an executive target and verbally abuse employees, so it's no surprise for a 60 person company to see 1-2 people leave a month. Combine that with the 2-3 people a month fired and you can imagine the turnover. If you're reading this thinking, "I'm different, I'm an achiever, I triumph over everything life throws at me" for the sake of everyone that loves you I'm begging you to consider triumphing over everything somewhere else. While the culture can make even the most competent people question themselves, the biggest toll is taken on spouses, family and friends. I met more than a couple of people who've had someone that loves them beg them to quit...even without another job. If you truly are great. You can be great somewhere else.
