Pros

-You can end up on a good team with a good manager -Product, vision, and goals have improved. There previously was a lot of work being done that was just wasted or didn't end up contributing to generating revenue or retaining customers or anything really. The roadmap is a lot better now. -Smart coworkers -CEO isn't unrealistic about company outlook and numbers. We may set high goals but there are some companies that really try to fluff up their all-hands meetings and revenue numbers, or only focus on positive numbers like growth without acknowledging the immense lack of profitability. Our CEO is very realistic and straightforward. -Benefits are pretty good

Cons

-If you end up on a good team, you'll end up helping other teams put out fires that are out of scope for you and won't get much help from the team responsible -Pay is on the lower side -Promotions and raises are not equal or regular (although an improvement here was just started). There is still a big pay discrepancy amongst engineers of the same level and experience. -"That's how it is at a startup" is used as an excuse way too much (including when talking about pay)

Over the short time I've been in my role, it’s been overwhelmingly positive. From day one, the entire support organization has been welcoming, encouraging, and incredibly helpful. What has stood out the most is the collaborative and inclusive environment. It’s a space where learning is truly supported, where mistakes are treated as part of the process, and where teamwork thrives. The leadership within the team has been exceptional—demonstrating a rare combination of empathy, clarity, and dedication that sets the tone for the rest of the group. Senior leadership offers transparency and inspires trust amongst the company. The collective knowledge, professionalism, and willingness to support one another has made the onboarding process significantly smoother. Whether it’s taking time to answer questions, jumping into live troubleshooting sessions, or simply offering encouragement, the level of support is consistent and deeply appreciated. The team dynamic is both high-performing and genuinely enjoyable. There’s a shared commitment to delivering outstanding service to customers, and that’s paired with a sense of fun and camaraderie that’s not always easy to findI’m incredibly grateful to be part of such a thoughtful and engaged group of people. The interview process was also exceptional and unlike any I have experienced previously. Each conversation was engaging, informative, and enjoyable. I could tell the company was a great place to be pretty immediately.
